2012 Eminence Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

2012 Eminence Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Winemaker Notess

The 2012 Eminence Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and1% Malbec. Showing wonderful, deep ruby/purple color, it?s just a hint of what is waiting in the glass. Scores of wild black fruit and spice are intermingled with a blanket of fine tannins. Full-bodied, showing good weight, but clean on the finish

93 points - James Suckling
Aromas of currants, blackberries, and hints of hazelnuts follow through to a full body, a tight palate and a long, flavorful finish. Condensed and pretty. Drink or hold.

Made from a majority of Cabernet Sauvignon, with small amounts of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec, this is a big, juicy wine with high acidity and a taste of crisp, red fruit. Substantial tannins suggest cellaring through 2018-2020 to elongate the young, puckering finish.

The deep ruby/plum/purple-colored 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Eminence was sourced from the cool climate Coombsville area, east of the town of Napa. A seriously endowed effort, it displays a dense ruby/purple color, ripe fruit, dark berries, a hint of spice box, and a medium to full-bodied, long finish. It is an excellent, possibly outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon to drink over the next decade.

Harvest Notes

2012 was the harvest that growers were yearning for, after back to back, challenging growing seasons in 2010 and 2011. With bright sunshine through flowering and fruit set, followed by a warm and sunny summer, the vines were loaded with healthy and abundant clusters heading into veraison. The fruit for the 2012 Bougetz Cellars Eminence Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from Tourmaline Vineyard in the Coombsville AVA. Beautiful weather through October allowed the fruit to mature evenly on the vine.
