2014 Bliss Rutherford Sauvignon Blanc
2014 Rutherford Sauvignon Blanc
The 2014 Rutherford Sauvignon Blanc is sourced completely from the Rutherford AVA. This wine is a blend of 92% Sauvignon Blanc with 8% Semillon. Stored on its lees and stirred regularly, this wine has picked up a fuller mid-palate which shows melon and tropical notes. Plenty of racy acidity shows through on the finish, leaving your palate clean while tantalizing your taste buds.
The Sauvignon Blanc vineyard in Rutherford is farmed organically and sits in the heart of the Napa Valley. 2014 was the third stellar growing season in a row for the Napa Valley. It started out about 2 weeks ahead of normal. With warm, sunny weather and almost no rain through the summer, we were looking to harvest by mid-August. After a little green harvesting in early August, the weather cooled and allowed us to delay picking, enabling the fruit to further mature. The Sauvignon Blanc was harvested on September 3rd, a couple of days earlier than 2013, beginning at sunrise.
