2015 Ardante Mt Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon

Winemaker Notes

The 2015 Ardante Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon is the newest member to the Bougetz Cellars lineup. This wine is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot.  Sourced from a vineyard high on Mount Veeder, this wine is deep purple/ruby in color, with powerful black fruits notes. Showing the strength of mountain fruit, this wine is well structured but full of cassis and blackberry flavors in the full-bodied palate. Lasting long on the finish, this wine will only benefit more from medium range cellaring.

Harvest Notes

Bud break for 2015 arrived a few weeks earlier than usual, and the growing season stayed ahead of normal throughout the entire season. An unusually cool period hit Napa Valley around flowering time, and this limited fruit set. While the quality of the fruit was unaffected, the quantity was down drastically. The summer temperatures were void of too many heat spikes leading into a beautiful harvest season. The fruit was allowed to hang to full maturity, leading to a morning pick on October 8th.
